Manager, Content Delivery Services

Requirements:

  • Bachelors or Masters degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, or a scientific field with 7-10 years of related experience in the information technology industry
  • 3-5 years of management experience 
  • Demonstrated experience in handling large scale project management in a complex IT environment (3 to 5 years experience)
  • Software development experience on large applications
  • Technical knowledge of program design principles, multi-tiered architectures, security, including an awareness of existing and emerging technologies
  • Ability to support the development of strategic plans and translate them into action plans to meet operational objectives
  • Demonstrated experience in selecting, coaching, training, and managing staff performance
  • Demonstrated leadership, communication and interpersonal skills, and the ability to work well with all levels and functions of the organization
  • Knowledge of CAS content and products is highly desirable
  • Understanding of the primary or secondary publishing market and competition is highly desirable

Duties: 

The candidate will provide leadership and manage the department responsible for the delivery of CA content to all products for search, analyze, and display. The department is responsible for the non-CA files loaded at the STN Columbus service center. The department is the primary interface with the IT Editorial Systems Department for CAS content and developing/enhancing algorithms for structure screen generation, structure similarity searching, structure image generation, framework generation, and improvement to structure search and display. The department is comprised of 35-45 staff and 10-15 contractors reporting to this position through 3 frontline managers.
