Our Expertise

CAS editorial scientists build the highest quality and most up-to data chemical databases in the world.

We review and intellectually index over 10,000 journals and patents from 57 patent authorities, providing pointers to the new and novel science disclosed in them.

Our information products, such as SciFinder and STN, are powerful and convenient ways to access CAS' database content.

  • CAplusSM includes 29 million records from the late 1800s to the present
  • CAS RegistrySM, with more than 35 million small molecules (view latest numbers), is recognized as the most authoritative source of chemical substance information, including chemical structures, names, predicted and experimental properties, tags, and spectra
  • CASREACT, our chemical reaction database, includes over 14 million reactions

We also have expert staff researchers to help you locate the information you need.
