STN Library and Information Science (LIS) Training Program

STN is the premier online scientific and technical information service dedicated to meeting the needs of information professionals worldwide.  For more than 25 years, searchers in commercial, government, and academic settings have used STN to access high-quality sci-tech databases.

STN searching is a key skill for library school graduates.  The STN Library and Information Science (LIS) Training Program is designed to help students become more knowledgeable STN searchers, so that they can list "an understanding of STN" on their resumes.

The STN LIS Training Program provides:

• Student workbooks, with hands-on practice problems and solutions
• STN login IDs for faculty and students
• Select STN databases and STN Express or STN on the Web search interfaces
• Dedicated application specialists to assist with STN training needs
• Access to the STN Help Desk

In addition, STN provides a variety of Support resources to assist in the training of students in library schools and information science programs.

All training materials and STN usage are provided through the STN LIS Training Program at no charge.  For additional information, refer to the STN LIS Training Program FAQs.
