How to... Set up a Keep Me Posted Alert

SciFinder's Keep Me Posted feature lets you quickly and easily set up alerts for references or substances of interest.

Whenever the Keep Me Posted Now icon appears in the bottom right corner of the SciFinder window, you can set up an alert based on the current Explore task.

Keep Me Posted Now alerts can be set up for tasks that include multiple search concepts as well as analyze and refine steps. Alerts can also be set up for sequences

Reference Alerts

1.

When references are displayed in your main SciFinder window, click the Keep Me Posted Now icon to set up an alert.

Tips
  • Conduct your Explore task the way you would like the current-awareness search to be conducted each time.

  • Include any Analyze or Refine steps that you like.

Note: SciFinder applies all of the "smarts" that it normally applies to Explore tasks, e.g., synonyms, company name dictionary, author name variations.

2. A description of your Explore task displays. Type a name for your alert profile, and specify the database and frequency. You may also deselect steps that you do not want SciFinder to include. Click OK.
