How to... Explore by Substructure
|
SciFinder Substructure Module (SSM) can be added on to the basic client. SSM gives you unparalleled substructure access to world's largest and most current chemical substance database.
SSM provides additional tools, for example, the ability to include variable groups and R-groups in your structure. By default, substructure searches retrieve exact results, plus substances with additional substitution and/or ring fusion.
|

|
In the Structure Drawing window, use tools down the left-hand side and across the bottom to draw your structure. Click Get Substances. |
- Mouse over the tool buttons to see names or descriptions for the tools.
- Once you select a tool, information also displays above the drawing area.
- For details about drawing structures and using each of the tools, see the SciFinder Help files.
The substructure-specific tools highlighted above let you:
- Draw variables and/or R-groups
- Block atoms from additional substitution
- Block rings from additional fusion

SciFinder provides you with many options for your search.
Select Substructure search, and specify any filters that you would like to apply to your search. Click OK. |
 |
If your query structure includes stereochemistry, SciFinder automatically analyzes the results by stereo.
