Copying and Pasting Text from PDFs

Text can be copied from STN Database Summary Sheets and pasted into other applications. 
You may find this helpful for sharing information with colleagues.


To copy text from an STN Database Summary Sheet:

  1. Open the PDF file.
  2. Click the Select Tool located on Adobe Reader's (Basic) toolbar.
    Select Tool in Adobe Reader
  3. Highlight the text.
  4. Copy the text to your clipboard in one of the following ways:
      • Type <Ctrl>c.
      • Click the Copy button on Adobe Reader's (Edit) toobar.
      • Right-click on the highlighted text, and select Copy to Clipboard.

To paste the text into another file, use the application's Paste tool or type <Ctrl>v.
