2025
Alex is a Ph.D. candidate studying organic chemistry under Prof. Sophie Rousseaux at the University of Toronto. She obtained her B.Sc. in chemistry at the University of Alberta, where she worked with Prof. Rylan Lundgren on the Pd-catalyzed benzylation of tertiary electrophiles. Alex’s graduate research focuses on Ni-catalyzed cross-couplings of redoxactive esters, as well as the synthesis and functionalization of strained rings. She was also a visiting Ph.D. researcher with Prof. Timothy Noël at the University of Amsterdam. Beyond research, Alex is passionate about STEM outreach and advocating for inclusivity in the chemical sciences.
