2025
Dorothea is a Ph.D. student at the University of Cambridge and the UK Dementia Research Institute under Prof. Sir David Klenerman. She develops single-molecule methods to study tau aggregates in human brain tissue and clinical biofluids, using super-resolution imaging and single-molecule arrays to investigate disease mechanisms and advance biomarker discovery in neurodegenerative diseases. Dorothea holds an M.Sc. in biological chemistry from ETH Zürich and a B.Sc. in biochemistry from Freie Universität Berlin, with further research experience at McGill and ENS Paris. Her work bridges fundamental biophysics and translational applications for early disease detection and mechanistic insights.
