Tamra is a born and raised Georgia girl. She is an NIH Postdoctoral Research Fellow working with Dr. Squire J. Booker to characterize novel radical S-adenosylmethionine enzymes involved in lipogenesis. Tamra attended Emory University, where she garnered a Ph.D. in chemistry under the mentorship of Dr. Katherine Davis. Her graduate research focused on the bioinformatic discovery and biochemical/biocomputational characterization of novel metalloenzyme superfamily members. Before Emory, she received a B.S. in chemistry at Georgia State University, where she first discovered her passion for scientific research under the mentorship of Dr. Suazette Mooring.
